Instagram has done it again. He copied another popular feature from TikTok called Duets and renamed it “Remix”.
Re-re-re-remix 🤩
You can now use the Remix feature in Reels to create your own reel next to the existing one 🎭
Whether you’re capturing your reaction, responding to friends, or bringing your own magic to trends, Remix is another way to collaborate on Instagram ✨ pic.twitter.com/eU8x74Q3yf

It’s pretty straightforward to use: hit the three-dot menu on any existing reel, select the “Remix this reel” option and start recording your own clip. These Remixed Reels will appear in the Reels tab. Additionally, you will be able to see who remixed your own reels via the Activity tab.
The feature is already rolled out to all Instagram apps and will be enabled on all Reels posted through public accounts.
The advantage of this feature import is that creators in countries like India, where TikTok is not available, will be able to easily create short collaborative videos.
The Facebook-owned social network is not the only one copying TikTok, however. Last week, TechCrunch reported that Snapchat is also working on a Duets-like feature – also known as Remix. The name may have to be rethought now.
Instagram is trying to take TikTok’s popularity with new features and apps. Last month, it launched its 2MB Lite app in 170 countries and said support for Reels will arrive soon.
