When Silicon Valley billionaires Dean Drako and Shiv Sikand couldn’t find an electric vehicle they actually wanted to buy, they did what anyone in their place would have done: they made their own.
Let me introduce you to the Drako GTE. His name makes it sound like some kind of Bond villain, and the boy does he drive like one.
In a recent video, the company took a pre-production model to a frozen Colorado lake 8,500 feet above sea level. The scarcity of air would have strangled a combustion engine, but this was no problem for the Drako’s 1,200 hp electric motors.
Drako also showed off his $ 1.2 million car’s ability to drift with poetic elegance, thanks to a motor at each wheel.
This allows it to perfectly balance the torque delivery, as well as the spin on the spot.
It’s calm, calm and very cool.
The Drako is probably one of the rarest electric vehicles on the market, with only 25 units to be produced. Would I take this on a fleet of Tesla Roadsters? You bet.
